Knowledge and Information in Action – 5th Edition: Learning Systems, Platforms and Digital Environments – Where Do We Stand Today?
As open and distance learning (ODL) has significantly expanded—driven by public policies and the health crisis—this symposium aims to provide an overview of current research on digital learning systems, platforms, and environments. It focuses on learners’ uses and practices, design and interaction logics, forms of mediation, and the dynamics of engagement and persistence, as well as critical perspectives on increasingly industrialized learning environments. The event adopts an interdisciplinary approach, drawing on information and communication sciences, education studies, sociology, and more. Four thematic strands are proposed:
Track 1 – Systems, platforms, and uses
Track 2 – Designing and facilitating the timespaces of distance learning
Track 3 – Engaging, persisting, and succeeding in distance learning
Track 4 – A critical approach to teaching and learning transformations
